Shovel Dance Collective is a London-based nine-piece ensemble that reimagines British and Irish folk traditions through a contemporary lens. Their music intertwines elements of drone, free improvisation, and contemporary classical, creating a unique soundscape that challenges traditional folk norms. The collective’s work delves into themes of queer histories, proto-feminist narratives, and the voices of marginalized communities, offering a fresh perspective on folk music as a living, communal activity. The band head to the 100 Club for a special, intimate show in the venue’s End Of Year Series.
