ATMOSFEAR
“Motivation” 40th anniversary concert
+ special guests: TBC
Atmosfear emerged from the late 1970’s ‘Brit-Funk’ scene along with Light of the World, Incognito, Freeez, Lynx, Hi-Tension, Central Line and more. Their timeless debut single ‘Dancing in Outer Space’ was played regularly at New York’s finest club – Paradise Garage – and is now considered a dance floor classic. It received a memorable re-mix by Dimitri from Paris in the late 90’s.
The 1980 follow up single “Motivation” b/w “Extract” helped the band secure a major record deal with MCA Records where they released their debut album “En Trance” in 1982. “Motivation” is also considered a massive dancefloor tune and was covered by The Bucketheads a.k.a. Kenny Dope in 1995 under the title “I Wanna Know”.
Co-founder and original bass player Lester Batchelor, still leads the band and they will recreate Atmosfear’s own brand of experimental intergalactic British Jazz-Funk live in concert tonight.
